    Hello Michal,

The setting that allows you to change the name that displays on the checkout page works. There are no bugs with this functionality. You should ensure you are using the latest version of the plugin and that you haven't done any custom development that would prevent your custom gateway title from displaying.

    Hello,

I am using your plugin at berrolia.com

This is what my checkout page looks like:

And this is what my settings page looks like:

Just in case, I switched off the caching plugin. Still no effect. Could you please advise?

    Thanks

    Hello,

That looks to me like there is some custom coding going on in your theme. You should check with your developers if they have hooked into any of the filters called for displaying the gateway title.

    Thanks,

    Hi

I did some experiments on a staging site and it looks like the problem is not connected to the theme. It disappears only after the Woocommerce Multilingual plugin has been switched off. Please take a look at the screenshots below. They were taken with twenty-fifteen theme and most plugins except the WPML suite switched off. The only difference between them is the Woocommerce Multilingual on/off.

Unfortunately, Woocommerce Multilingual is part of the WPML suite, which is pretty much an industry standard for anyone who runs a site in more than one language.

Maybe you could check if I am right. If this is the case, maybe you could consider making it compatible with WPML. In fact, I have been using several payment gateways and yours is the only one that has this sort of issue.

I have chosen your plugin precisely because it is able to handle multi-currency. Having a multilingual site goes pretty much in line with multi-currency, so maybe full WPML compatibility might be a good feature for your plugin as well.

Maybe in the meantime you could suggest some kind of a workaround?

    Thanks,

    Michał

    Hello,

Our plugin is actually WPML compatible and we are going through the official certification process.

    1. Go to Theme and plugins localization
    2. Select Braintree For WooCommerce Pro and click Scan selected plugins for strings
    3. Once the scan is finished click the View strings that need translation button
    4. Then select the admin domain like the following image.
    5. Translate the string that you entered on the plugin's Checkout settings page.

Thank you. In fact, I already did this. The problem is, at the checkout page it displays a different string, which is "braintree_payment_gateway_gateway_title".

After having translated it (the default value there is "Braintree payments") I was able to get it to work for all other languages, except for English (which is my site's default language). Of course, in the English checkout is still displays "Braintree payments".

If this helps, I can make a staging copy and give you the admin credentials there. Please provide me with your email address then.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by braintree_payment_gateway_gateway_title. Where are you getting that string from?

I looked through the WPML code. When WPML is active, it searches for a translated string braintree_payment_gateway_title in the woocommerce domain. Because our plugin allows you to make the title whatever you want, that appears to cause a conflict.

    We have an update:

WPML provides a function icl_register_string that allows dynamic strings to be translated via the translations screen. The reason you are seeing "Braintree Payments" is because WMPL doesn't know to look for your custom entry in the title text.

We will add this ability in the next release.

    Thanks,
